Grace Transforms Everything

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."1

One of the most miraculous demonstrations of our Heavenly Father's power is His ability to transform a wicked man into a shining light for the Lord Jesus. The apostle Paul is a great example of how God can change people.

Before his conversion, Paul (Saul) was very religious, but not in a good way. He relied on his status, his compliance, and his piety for authority and acceptance. However, when he met the Lord on the road to Damascus, he discovered that all his religious works and credentials meant nothing. The only way we can become accepted by God is by receiving the saving grace of Christ.

Paul went from being a servant of sin to a servant of God (Romans 6:17-18). Paul had been hostile to the early church, encouraging blasphemy, punishing believers, and vowing to punish them with death (Acts 26:10-11). But after salvation he became a missionary dedicated to spreading the gospel wherever he could. Our Heavenly Father turned one of the enemies of the early church into a wise and consecrated leader.

I encourage you to commit to obeying the Lord and see what happens. He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).

Suggested Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for the gift of your grace, for that undeserved gift that you have chosen to give us. Although my limited mind cannot understand so much love from you, I only receive it with a heart ready to be transformed by the power of your love and grace for your honor and glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
