Jesus Christ is the
same yesterday and today and forever.1
In our changing
world, friendships drift apart, families move, and technology advances. If we
seek security in people, position, or things we have, we will end up
disappointed. However, we all need a place to turn to in the storms of life.
The only true anchor for our soul is Christ, who never changes. To find comfort
in Him, we must learn who He is and how He acts.
John 1:1 reveals
that the Lord Jesus was God from the beginning. He was born of a virgin, lived
33 years on Earth, was crucified, and rose again on the third day. He is the Way,
the Truth, and the Lifeā"the Christ, the son of the living God (John
14:6). His resurrection conquered death, and he is still alive today
(Romans 8:34).
The merciful,
loving, compassionate, Holy Lord Jesus we know in the Bible is the same Messiah
we can hold on to today. Difficult circumstances are inevitable, but we can go
to Him, who is the only true Refuge and the Rock that will not change. Our
wonderful Savior, Jesus!
Suggested Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, today I want to thank You for Your Son Jesus, because He
does not change. Our friendships, jobs, and circumstances may change, but Jesus
remains... always, loving, compassionate, and merciful. Thank you in Jesus'
name, Amen.
