So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.¹

We were created to have a close, powerful, and loving relationship with The Almighty God. In fact, that desire resides in the hearts of all of mankind — in some it is way deep down and in others, it is a desire that has been over-shadowed and darkened by sin. Maybe you have a hard time believing that God could love someone like you. You have focused your unbelief on the ugly in your life and allowed it to cloud over the beauty that God has created in you.

The truth is, we are not loveable, we are not good, and we are not deserving of the Love that the Father has for us. But it is His Love, His Goodness, and His immeasurable grace and mercy that are what make us worthy of His eternal Love. This kind of love is hard to imagine. Everything that God has made, has given us, has planned for us, has been born of love — God is Love!

Recent events in the United States have left many Christians desiring a bolder and more courageous relationship with God. We can have it! All you have to do is come to the realization of the great and amazing love God has for each of us. God has loved us so much that all we have to do is believe it!

Suggested prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me through the good, the bad, and the in-between. Lord, I desire a close and powerful relationship with You, the kind that allows me to be bold in my faith and allows others to see Your Love reflected in all I say and do. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
