Living an Abundant Life
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.1
In a few weeks, we will once again join with believers all over the world to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! For Christians, this should be a time that we prepare for with much anticipation because of what Easter means to the children of God. When we ask Jesus to forgive our sins and become the Lord of our lives, a transformation begins that takes us from merely existing to truly living! We have become new (2 Cor. 5:17) and our lives are now marked by hope for an eternity with God! When we daily seek to renew this commitment to Christ, we are surrendering to His plan to transform us to His will and For His purpose. In doing so, we die a little more to our own selfish desires and pride-filled ways and embrace the abundance of a fulfilled life in HIM.
Jesus came to us so that we might find Him and live — not better lives, but new, full, and abundant lives! And on those days when living for “me” just feels better, the Holy Spirit is there to remind us that Jesus' death and suffering were all for me! Then, that same Spirit gives us the power to walk in victory, free from the ever-binding chains of sin and filled with God’s love and amazing grace. Accept the eternal life that Christ died to give you and then embrace the abundant life that came with His resurrection!
Suggested Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank you for looking down on me in love and for choosing me to be a part of your eternal family. Help me to live as one that has been made new and live in the abundance that comes from a life in You. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
