God Will Provide

"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."1

God cares about you. And He is interested in the things that interest you. The Bible says that God opens His hand and satisfies the desires of every living being (Psalm 145:16). However, that doesn't happen automatically, as you probably know well. Something is required of you. God wants us to lift our needs and desires to him in prayer. God knows what we need, but he still wants to hear it from us. God's provision is His gift to us, but He still wants us to ask Him with faith that He will provide it. No matter how big or small something may seem, God desires to hear our prayers. He wants us to tell him everything that is in our heart, and he wants us to persist in prayer without giving up.

Too often, we don't immediately get the answer we want, and we get impatient and discouraged. We stop praying because we believe that if God didn't respond in the time we wanted Him to and in the way we wanted, He won't respond at all. But God’s answer will always come in His timing, and will be the best answer based on His purpose for our lives.

God wants us to ask Him for even our most basic needs. Jesus taught us to pray: Give us this day our daily bread" (Matthew 6:11). Without a doubt, one of the most immediate or basic needs in our lives is knowing where our next meal will come from. God provides, but also wants us to realize that even the food we eat is a blessing from Him.

God wants you to seek Him for all your needs, so that you can receive all He has for you. He wants us to pray without ceasing. Remember that nothing is too big or too small for God to take care of.

Suggested Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I want to thank you for being my provider. Every need I have, no matter how small or big it may seem, you provide for it. Sometimes not as I want or at the time I want, but you are faithful and have never forsaken me. Thank you for your faithfulness. Help me to trust You completely despite the uncertainties of everyday life. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
