Shine His Light
In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.1
Recently, I came across a quote that says, “Remember, you may be the only Bible some people ever read.” When I saw it, I started pondering on it, realizing just how true it is because some people may never know who God really is. As followers of Christ, we are meant to share the gospel with as many people as possible, not necessarily straight away teaching what the Bible says, but also by being an example of Christ in the way we live and act.
Being an example of Christ can look like encouraging someone when life gets tough, being kind, and loving others just as God loves us. We should let our good deeds shine out for all to see, but with the right motives and with the hope that they will get to learn who God is through us. We should never try to pressure someone into Christianity because that will just push them further away. Instead, we can live a godly life and let people come to us. Once someone gets to know you better, they feel more comfortable with you and may ask about your faith - and when they do ask, always be ready to explain it in a gentle and respectful way (1 Peter 3:15-16). Do not try to hide His light... let it shine for all to see!
Suggested prayer: Dear God, thank you for showing me what your Light looks like. Please help me to share that light with everyone I meet. When people ask about my faith, please give me the right words to say and lead them to you. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.
