God Is Always With You
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.1
We all get scared at some point or another, whether it is getting on a roller coaster or watching a scary movie… I even get scared just to kill a spider! Sometimes, when I am afraid, I forget that God is with me, and I really have nothing to worry about.
Sometimes unexpected things happen that catch us off guard. A while back, my family was evacuated from our home because of a fire. I was scared, stressed, and felt anxious thinking about what could happen to us. Again, I forgot to remember how God is always with me.
When I get bad grades on a test, I feel discouraged. Then I start to think… what would happen if I kept getting bad grades? Would I get held back one year? Maybe. But if I get bad grades, it is probably because I did not study enough!
When I was going through a rough time because I started a new school, I was worried that I would never have any friends. I would pray and say, “God, help me make friends. Friends that are kind, and that do not get into trouble.” And now I have about 15 friends! Some of them get into trouble sometimes, but they are kind and helpful. I gave all my worries to God, and he took care of the rest.
I had really bad asthma when I was younger, and had to go to the hospital a few times. I really wanted it to go away, and I would pray for God to take it away, but it was okay if he did not. Now I am ten years old and… no more asthma! I gave my worries to God, and he answered me in His time. God is with you too, and will always care for you and answer when you call to Him.
God will always be with you no matter what, and he will never ever leave. Any time you are scared or feel discouraged, come to the LORD for help. Give all of your problems to him, and he will take care of the rest.
Suggested prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for always being with me. Thank you for helping me in rough times. I could not have done anything without you. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
