"In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory."1
Have you felt defeated in your spiritual life? The problem may be that you are relying on your own resources and abilities rather than on the inexhaustible riches of God that He has placed at your disposal.
With God, we don't have to worry about running out of time, energy, money, or resources. He has promised to equip us with everything necessary for the purpose to which we have been called. In fact, we are heirs to great and glorious riches. Consider some of God's generous blessings:
We are His workmanship (Ephesians 2:10). God saved you by His grace and is sanctifying you in the same way. The transforming and empowering work is the Lord's, your role is only to cooperate and depend on Him.
We have immediate access to God (Hebrews 4:16). Divine help is only a prayer away.
We have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us (Ephesians 1:13-14). He not only guides you and helps you understand God's Word, but He also equips you with everything you need to obey Christ.
As human beings, we are used to having limited resources, but with God it is not so. When we remember His infinite provision and depend on it, we will gain rest, peace, and confidence in Christ.
Suggested Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, today I want to thank you that you do not leave me alone. Thank you for equipping me with all the resources I need to fight the good fight. Help me to remember that I am not alone and that your Holy Spirit is with me at all times. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
