Trust Him
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not depend on
your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which
path to take.1
With everything going on in our lives, it is easy to take
things into our own hands instead of leaving them in God’s hands. When we make
our own plans, we may feel a sense of security because we are able to envision
the next steps. However, a lot of the time, if our plan is not His will, our
plans do not end up working out. I have tried to make and follow my own plan
before, but I ended up getting really overwhelmed, stressed, and anxious. I
started asking God, why is this not working out? What am I supposed to do?
But then, I realized that I was feeling like that because I was putting my
trust in my own plans, so I started asking God, what is Your will for me?
Then, I remembered Proverbs 3:5-6. I really enjoy these verses because it
reminds me that I can trust God completely with everything and that if I seek
His will, I will eventually know His will for me.
God already has a plan for each of us in accordance with His
will. However, He cannot show us His will until we put our trust fully in him
and seek Him above all things. But how can we actually trust Him? We can trust
the Lord by making the choice to trust Him. When we make the choice to trust
Him, and practice it daily, that thought of us trusting the Lord becomes
reality. And how do we seek His will? Well, God’s will is always going to align
with His Word, so every time you have to make a big decision, go to the Bible
and find out what it says in relation to your situation. Once you are
trusting Him and seeking His will, things will start to become clearer as you
continue your journey with the Lord. Believe me when I say to trust Him because
the safest place for your worries, thoughts, and your heart, is in His hands.
Suggested prayer: Lord, thank you for leading me in the path
that You have for me. Please continue guiding me through everything life brings
my way as I keep trusting You. In Your mighty name I pray, amen.
