Passport for Heaven

Many people believe that it doesn't matter what religion you follow as long as you are sincere, that your sincerity will get you into God's Heaven. Not so. All roads may lead to Rome, but all roads do NOT lead to God or to his Heaven. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, made it very clear when he was on earth that he was the only way to God and Heaven.

When Thomas, one of Jesus' disciples, asked him "How can we know the way? Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father [God] except through Me.'"16 Had there been any other way into God’s Heaven, would Jesus Christ have had to leave heaven, and come to earth as a man, to give his life to die such an excruciatingly painful death on the cross to save you and me from the just punishment for our sins? Not so.
The good news is that when we die, because of God's love and Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, we can know with certainty that we will go to be with God in Heaven, to be with him forever—and thereby escape the eternal torment and damnation of Hell. That is, providing we have asked for and accepted God’s forgiveness and have made adequate preparations to meet God face to face.
Preparation
As already noted, God has warned us in his Word, the Bible, that there is life after death, after which we face God's judgment.17 And, as he warned the nation of Israel to prepare to meet God,18 the same warning applies to you and me.
So how do you prepare to meet God and receive your Passport for Heaven, and thereby be guaranteed an entrance into God's Heaven?
All you need to do is 1). Admit and confess to God that you are a sinner. 2). Believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died in your place to pay the penalty for all your sins. 3). Ask God for his forgiveness, and 4). Accept God’s gift of eternal life by receiving Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.
The following prayer will help you do this.
"Dear God, I confess that I am a sinner and am sorry for all the wrongs/sins I have committed. I believe that your Son, Jesus Christ, died on the cross in my place to pay the penalty for all my sins. Please forgive me and grant to me your gift of eternal life. I invite you, Jesus, to come into my heart and life as my Lord, my God, and my Savior. I commit and trust my life and way to you. Please help me to become the person you want me to be, and to do what you want me to do. Thank you for dying in my place to pay the penalty for all my sins, for your forgiveness and free pardon, for the gift of eternal life, and for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully in Jesus’ name, amen."

God’s Promise
If you prayed to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, here is great assurance from God's Word: "This is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son [Jesus Christ]. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life."19
Remember: Accepting Jesus as your Savior and God's forgiveness is God's guarantee of your "Passport for Heaven." Whatever you do, don't leave earth without it. And don't leave it until it is too late to receive it. If you haven't already done so, I urge you to accept God's forgiveness today and therein receive your "Passport for Heaven." God’s Last Trumpet Call
A final reminder from God’s Word: “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God.
“First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves.
“Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.”20
As James Black wrote in his popular hymn, “When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more, And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair; When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore, And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.”21
When God’s last Trumpet Call sounds, will you be ready? If not, I urge you to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and receive God’s forgiveness today.
