Special Operational Needs for 2008

Areas of Ministry Needs
Strategy to Meet Support Goals
Progress Thermometer ... How We Are Doing

Areas of Ministry Needs

Following are the areas of ACTS' ministry that need funding to make ACTS dynamic worldwide gospel outreach possible:

  • Aggressive advertising in the secular media to reach many thousands of non-believers around the world every day.

  • For Daily Encounter "120 upper room sponsors" are urgently needed. That is, 120 people who will donate $30 a month for a total of $3,600.00. This will achieve the following: We are investing $3000 a month to advertise Daily Encounter in the secular media. This gains 10,000 new subscribers every month from around the world. We are also needing $600 a month to advertise our Spanish Daily Encounter (Encuentros Diarios). This will gain 1800 new subscribers from Spanish speaking countries every month. Thus, 120 upper room sponsors donating $30 a month will gain a total of 11,180 new subscribers every month!

Click HERE for why 120 upper room sponsors.

As many, if not most, of our salvation and re-commitment to Jesus Christ responses come from our advertising for new Daily Encounter subscribers, it is imperative that we continue this advertising every month-all year long. Or the following Daily Encounter upper room sponsors will achieve the same results a s above: $30 a month will gain 100 new subscribers every month; $60 a month will gain 200 new subscribers every month; and $90 a month will gain 300 new subscribers every month. Every subscriber receives a Christian message with a link to a clear gospel message every weekday of the year. As a result we are currently averaging 500+- salvation and re-commitment to Jesus Christ responses a month from around the world.

  • Support for publishing Daily and Weekend Encounter e-zines to keep these without cost to worldwide subscribers—many of whom have a meager income. Combined, with Prayer Encounter we now have almost 200,000 subscribers worldwide.

  • Follow-up ministry.

  • E-mail pastoral counseling without charge.

  • Foreign language web outreach: We currently have web sites in English, Spanish, and French.

  • Translating every issue of Daily Encounter into Spanish and setup so that it is sent out automatically.

  • Office and computer equipment and supplies.

  • Staff support: In our U.S. office we currently have only two staff members, Joy (my wife) and myself. Because of the continuing growth of this ministry, an additional staff member is a very pressing need. Translators are also paid at an hourly rate as are helpers for special needs and projects.

  • Ongoing technical support (which is not cheap) for Internet and E-mail programming to ensure that we are kept up to date with the latest technology and protection from hackers.

  • Overheads expenses.

  • Developing and maintaining the following ACTS web sites:

Why 120 upper room sponsors?

After Christ's death and resurrection: "Then they [the early disciples and followers of Jesus] returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey. And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James. These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples (altogether the number of names was about a hundred and twenty)..." (Acts 1:12-15, NKJV). In a very real way this prayer meeting was in preparation for the founding of the Church of Jesus Christ.
