P.S. I grew up in Australia close to where these people with the lauraketes were photographed, and have had them sit on my head too. And yes, the inevitable happened—all down the back of my ear! Just goes to show that "some days you're the pidgeon...other days the statue!" You just have to have a good sense of humor.
